Hawaii Part 4 - June 2011

Before we checked out of the hotel....could not resist taking this picture. It reminded me of Rear Window, the Alfred Hitchcock movie. Obviously the bride and groom have no idea what is going on around them and the two fellows the floor below are totally oblivious to the wedding that is taking place just above their head!

Today after checking out of the hotel, we spent the whole day at Pearl Harbor. It is really an amazing sight...lots to see and do. We visited the battleship Missouri where the Japanese surrendered to Genl McArthur and then visited the Pacific Air Museum and finally went to the Arizona Memorial, which was the largest battleship sunk by the Japanese at Pearl Harbor.

There are 1177 navy personnel buried alive in the wreckage that is beneath the memorial building. That took 4 - 5 hours and we only touched the surface.

We are now at the Airport awaiting our flight to the Big Island of Hawaii. We are staying in a home that we rented that is about a ten minute walk from the Chabad operation on the Big Island.
Will send you more pictures and updates in the next few days.
All the best
Fran and David
